Our story was born out of a passion for nature and the great outdoors. Inspired by the UAE’s vibrant blue seascape and year-round sunshine, coupled with our love for all things art and design, BU Towels was born.
Our ‘go-to’ magic ingredient is bamboo, one of the most sustainable, eco-friendly resources on the planet. This miracle plant is soft, kind and resilient, making it the perfect partner in the creation of our products. Light-weight, durable and with natural anti-bacterial properties, we teamed it up with recycled plastic to create high-performance, super-sustainable towels. That’s why you’ll find bamboo at the heart of all our collections and products. From our choice of product materials right down to our packaging, our aim is to be sustainable and eco-friendly at every level.
Our designs showcase the rich cultural heritage of the Arabian Gulf, drawing inspiration from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and the UAE. Weaving together all the strands of our story, we were able to create something truly special: a range of towels that are environmentally-conscious, yet celebrate the art and design of the Arab world. You can think of our towels as blank canvases for locally inspired designs, allowing for exciting collaborations with talented local and regional artists.
At BU, we care about creating a better planet. Each of our products is carefully crafted and sustainably designed using eco-friendly materials. Our packaging is FSC-certified. Our canvas bags are reusable, plastic-free and biodegradable. Whilst our candles are made using clean, non-toxic wax and scents. We believe in building lasting relationships with our customers by offering them authentic, high-quality products that won’t disrupt the beauty of the world around them.
Like all great stories, our tale rolls on creating ripples of good for our planet. We believe that every little act adds up to a greater good. That’s why we’re proud to partner with Emirates Nature–WWF, where we donate 2% of our net profit towards protecting our environment. We also keep sharing the love through our Re-use scheme which donates your pre-owned BU towels to animal shelters across the UAE.
