Working with certified materials is

Every BU Towel is OEKO-TEX® certified. OEKO-TEX® certified products do not contain any toxic, chemicals or allergic substances. It’s a symbol of assurance that the fabric has been thoroughly tested and found to be free of substances harmful to human health.
GOTS, which stands for Global Organic Textile Standard, is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibres. Only textile products which contain a minimum of 70% organic fibres can become GOTS certified. Our reusable face pads, which are made from ethically sourced organic cotton and bamboo, meet all GOTS standards.
Most product packaging is wasteful and ends up in landfills. At BU, we are conscious of this and aim to use sustainable plastic alternatives as much as we can. That’s why we lean towards polybags made from compostable plant-based corn starch and kraft paper packaging that is FSC certified.
At BU, we strive to use FCS certified materials in our paper-based product packaging.
FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification ensures that products come from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social and economic benefits.

Global Recycled Standard

All of our polyester-based towels are made from 100% recycled post-consumer waste. The recycled materials are transformed into premium polyester fibers that are certified by the Global Recycled Standard (GRS) which is an internationally recognized certification standard that establishes criteria for chemical restrictions, environmental sustainability, and social processing requirements. This certification ensures that the identity and quality of materials are maintained throughout the recycling process, from the recycler to the final product.
